The area is exactly the same, but shot at different angles, different heights, different lighting conditions, different cameras, etc. I never said that I shot my video immediately after the camera crew. I don't even know when they were here. I shot this video in August 2007. The M v W video was broadcast in 2006. Bear was crossing from west to east and the shadows show that it was taped early in the morning. My video was shot around noon.

I have been in many wild places in Kilauea away from civilization, including Pu'u O'o, the active vent. He was supposed to hike from Pu'u O'o to the ocean but instead chose to fake his hike by staying close to the roads. He also faked many of his survival techniques including walking on lava, walking through volcanic fumes, getting water from a root in a lava tube, climbing down and up deep lava tubes and fissures that can easily be gone around. He also faked the geographic location of the summit of Kilauea, the location of the tropical forest he entered, the location of the lava tube, and the location of the small crater that he landed on. All the advice he gave was meaningless.

i like that video where u show bears a phony and then say that you wear behind the camera when it happened and taped it after him but why is the rock formation clearly diffrent thier also the fissure is a diffrent with and also if you where right thier behind him why was it late afternoon for bear but early morning for you

dude you cant penalize Bear Grylls for not being in the wild in a place like that. He is just showing what would happen. And commercialization can't be prevented in a situation like that. He even states in most of his shows that a lot of the things have been set up just to show what would happen. When you look at it... that guy could survive almost anything. Even if he really isn't in the vids.

bear is showing SURVIVAL skills essential to people who get stuck in a trench, lost in woods, or in this case, hardened lava plains. he is telling his viewers about the dangers that lurk beneath the lava.
