Sup!
I've been releasing music for free for 10 years, but only just decided to put stuff up on YouTube.

I'm a composer, arranger, sound designer, and "things in flatbread" (tacos, gyros, falafel, etc) enthusiast. I do the first three things professionally, in order to finance the fourth.

------------------------------ --
About Me:

So, as for music: I write everything from Nintendo chiptunes to orchestral film scores to smooth jazz to house to bluegrass.

My career depends on versatility, and I try to faithfully reproduce any genre I attempt, through obsessive analysis and respect for those who have mastered their styles.

I'm always terrified of being asked what kind of music I write. Having to explain that yesterday I wrote a speed metal song using a Game Boy, and today I'm writing a disco ballad about frosted cereal.. it's awkward at the best of times. I wish I could just say "Gypsy Jazz." or "Mostly Flamenco, with some Enka here and there." You know, maybe I will, from now on.

Rather than innovating or expressing deep emotions, I approach music as a way to make people laugh or smile. My favorite musicians are those who take their technique seriously, but not themselves.

I hope I can leave some kind of positive mark on the world, but if not, at least I'm loving life and I have awesome friends. Can't ask for much more than that.

Influences:
There are a lot of freaking brilliant musicians, and I have studied and gleaned technique from hundreds, probably thousands, of them. Every time I hear music I am learning, analyzing, making connections -- whether it's Cookie Monster or Beethoven.
Sounds Like:
In theory, all of the above. In practice, kind of a midi-fied home-studio version of same. Waiting for access to real studio engineers and stuff. They are miracle workers.

Of all the chiptunes I've heard your music is what I keep coming back to. I've never heard chiptunes with that sort of complexity and soul. I have some Rushjet1 stuff, but the others I haven't heard of. Where could I get a hold of their music?

KonungurAfPina: yep, that's me! Thanks so much, that's a high compliment, but there's a lot of amazing stuff out there. You should check out Hally, Norrin Radd, Shnabubula, Sliver, and Rushjet1 if you haven't heard them already. Many days worth of amazing listening.
