Fox News Speaks for Majority on Health Care Reform?

    by LiberalViewer 758,542 views

OVER 100 MORE examples of Fox News Bias at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A3BD2524FE99BD4D

Earlier this month, when Jon Stewart and "The Daily Show" totally decimated the credibility of Fox News in general and Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly specifically because of the way that the supposed straight news anchors on Fox News like Megyn Kelly keep aggressively opposing health care reform under the guise of speaking for the majority of the American people, I thought it might make Megyn Kelly and the other Fox News anchors a little more circumspect on the subject, but, this week, despite that drubbing from "The Daily Show," Megyn Kelly continued using questionable poll numbers to pretend to speak for the majority of Americans as I show in this video.

The clips of "The Daily Show" that I use in this video come from the segment broadcast on Comedy Central on March 3, 2010, which is available online at http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-march-3-2010/anchor-management

The clips I use of Megyn Kelly and Bernard Whitman come from a segment on the Fox News program "America Live" broadcast on March 16, 2010 (that I have not been able to find online).

The clip I use of Megyn Kelly misreading a poll about the American Dream comes from a segment on that same program which is available online at http://media2.foxnews.com/031610/031610_al_cain_FNC_031610_14-17_FNC_MED.mp4

The graphic I use of from RealClearPolitics showing a variety of poll results regarding the health care legislation from President Obama and the Democrats comes from the page available online at http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/obama_and_democrats_health_care_plan-1130.html#polls

The graphic I use of from Gallup showing a variety of poll results regarding the health care legislation from President Obama and the Democrats comes from the page available online at http://www.gallup.com/poll/126521/Favor-Oppose-Obama-Healthcare-Plan.aspx

And, finally, the graphic I use from Xavier University showing a poll result regarding the difficulty of reaching the American Dream comes from the page available online at http://www.xavier.edu/politics/documents/American-Dream-Presentation.pdf

Fox News bias on health care reform, or "Obamacare" as they like to call it, has been extensive over the years and, most recently, has failed to prepare viewers for the likelihood the US Supreme Court will find the law constitutional given that Congress had a rational basis to believe that the practice of self-insuring for the cost of health care, in the aggregate, substantially affects interstate commerce, as I show in this video.

The clip I use of Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace comes from a longer segment of Fox News' August 11, 2011, broadcast of the GOP Presidential Debate from Iowa available online at http://bit.ly/r8stTb

The clips I use of Fox News anchor Geraldo Rivera and Florida's Republican Attorney General, Pam Bondi, come from a longer segment of Fox News' October 2, 2011, broadcast of "Geraldo at Large" (which I haven't found available online)

The clips I use of former Michigan Governor Granholm and Bill Maher come from the "Overtime" segment of HBO's September 30, 2011, broadcast of "Real Time with Bill Maher" available online at http://bit.ly/qHnpyC

Media Matter's revelation this month of leaked memos from Fox News, including Washington Managing Editor Bill Sammon's email reminding Fox News' supposed journalists to continue mislabeling the "public option" proposed in some health care reform plans as a "government run plan," confirmed the Fox News bias I documented in my August 2009 video titled "Government Run Health Care Is Fox News Myth?" allowing me to update my October 2009 video titled "Is Fox News Bias Different" with recent clips of Rachel Maddow's discussing of the topic on "The Late Show with David Letterman," as I show in this video.

The clips I use of Rachel Maddow's appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman" come from a longer segment CBS broadcast on December 16, 2010, which is available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLlO1ve1Oqw

When Vice President Joe Biden spoke a blunt truth to President Barack Obama right before the President signed historic health care legislation into law last week, the coverage on Fox News was somewhat exaggerated while the benefits of the bill were downplayed during Fox News coverage of the bill signing as I show in this video.

The clip of Martha MacCallum covering Vice President Joe Biden's statement to President Barack Obama that health care reform is a "big fucking deal" comes from the Fox News program "America's Newsroom" broadcast March 24, 2010, available online at http://media2.foxnews.com/032410/032410_ms_biden_NM_032410_10-13_FNC_MED.mp4

The subsequent clips of Fox News' live coverage of President Barack Obama's speech before signing historic health care legislation into law last week comes from the Fox News program "Happening Now" broadcast March 23, 2010, available online at http://media2.foxnews.com/032310/hn_obama_FNC_032310_12-28_FNC_MED.mp4

Fox News coverage of the health reform debate has been pretty bad, as I've shown in multiple videos, and last week was no different when a supposed straight news story and interview of Republican Senator Judd Gregg by Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer on the program "America's Newsroom" examined the cost of health reform, mentioning the deficit and the debt several times, without ever mentioning the over $1 TRILLION in deficit reduction in the Senate bill as I show in this video.

The clip of President Barack Obama's December 21, 2009, news event on government efficiency and effectiveness that I use in this video comes from the PUBLIC DOMAIN video uploaded by the White House available online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtoqHGbO7Ow

The clips of the supposed straight news story and interview of Republican Senator Judd Gregg by Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer on the program "America's Newsroom" comes from the episode broadcast on December 22, 2009, that is available in full online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLfreiCClsc

When Fox News reported on the progressive blog firedoglake calling for Hadassah Lieberman, wife of Sen. Joe Lieberman, to be fired from her job with the anti-breast cancer group Susan G. Komen for the Cure, both the so-called "straight news" program "Special Report w/ Bret Baier" and the so-called "No Spin Zone" on "The O'Reilly Factor," left out an important fact about Hadassah Lieberman, as I show in this video.

The clip from "Special Report w/ Bret Baier" comes from the segment broadcast on Fox News on December 14, 2009, which is available online at http://video.foxnews.com/12529078/political-grapevine-1214

The clip from "The O'Reilly Factor" comes from the segment broadcast on Fox News on December 15, 2009, which is available online at http://video.foxnews.com/12553887/talking-points-1215

    Fox News Politicizes Pap Smears?

    by LiberalViewer 35,116 views

When a George W Bush appointed panel's recommendation of less frequent mammograms to screen for breast cancer was followed by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' recommendation of less frequent pap smears to screen for cervical cancer last week, the Fox News story I saw on the issue did a reasonable job of explaining the new guidelines, but when it came to covering the way some Republicans tried to politicize this news in the ongoing health care reform debate, Fox News did a poor job, falling into the trap of covering the so called "rationing" controversy rather than informing viewers of the truth, as I show in this video.

The Fox News story from James Rosen, anchored by Martha MacCallum, including the clip of Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, comes from the program "Live Desk" that aired on November 20, 2009 (and I have been unable to find this segment available online).

The clip I use of Bill O'Reilly attacking Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in this video come from the episode of his Fox News program "The O'Reilly Factor" broadcast on May 11, 2009 that you can find included in my previous video titled "Calling Murdered Dr Tiller 'Baby Killer' Was Wrong?" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZYbAhCdmZs

Lie to Say Illegals Not Insured by Health Reform?

    by LiberalViewer 52,793 views

When South Carolina Republican Congressman Joe Wilson shouted out "You lie!" during President Barack Obama's speech to a joint session of Congress on health care reform last week, most reasonable people rejected the outburst, but I was surprised to see how much time Fox News spent giving intellectual support to the accusation and particularly surprised to see that support coming from Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News' senior judicial analyst, as I explain in this video.

The public domain video of President Barack Obama's speech to a joint session of Congress on health care reform last week from which I took a clip for this video is available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSJugLUsM58

The 3 clips of Judge Andrew Napolitano are from Fox News' "Your World with Neil Cavuto" broadcast on September 10, 2009 which I have not been able to find online.

Even Fox News recognizes the big gap between the opinions of Republicans and the opinions of Democrats when it comes to President Barack Obama's attempt to get health care insurance reform, particularly when it comes to the "public option" or, as Fox News calls it, the "government run aspect," but Fox News may actually have significant responsibility for this Republican opinion gap as I show in this video

You can find the full text of HR 3200, the health care bill passed in the the US House of Representatives, to which I refer in this video at http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.3200:

180+ Fox News Bias videos at http://bit.ly/jdC5ju

When the US Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the constitutionality of the health care reform law that Congress passed in 2010 (sometimes called "Obamacare"), some pundits (Jeffrey Toobin, Megyn Kelly) and fake pundits (Stephen Colbert) were quick to make dire predictions about the law based just on the questions from the justices on issues like broccoli, but those predictions may be premature as Dahlia Lithwick, President Obama, and I show in this video.

The clips I use of Fox News anchor Megyn Kelley come from a longer segment of Fox News' March 27, 2012, broadcast of "America Live" which I have not found available online.
