Full 13-part oral history interview with director John Frankenheimer. He gives vivid descriptions of his work as an assistant director on Edward R. Murrow's Person to Person, You Are There and Danger. He soon was given the chance to direct both You Are There and Danger. Frankenheimer's television career soared -- he directed many teleplays aired the live anthology series Climax! and Playhouse 90, including such classics as "The Comedian" and "Days of Wine and Roses." After leaving television for over 20 years to direct features, he returned to direct the acclaimed programs Andersonville and George Wallace for HBO. The two-part interview was conducted on March 21 and April 13, 2000 by Michael Rosen.
