Violence against women (VAW) is one of the most widespread violations of human rights — one in three women will suffer some form of violence in her lifetime. VAW is not only an individual's experience, but it is also a universal occurrence, affecting women and girls regardless of nationality, race, class, ethnicity, or religion. And while VAW crosses these lines, it also intersects with other issues, such as racism, immigration, HIV/AIDS, and war. This collection of videos highlights different types of violence against women globally, its intersections and linkages, and the activism conducted to combat this violence.
