"sorry, only just noticed your post. Motivation? Mainly 2 things, this cam is as small as a semi pro cam can be so IMO I will get more use out of it in everyday situations. I just cant imagine running around the Reptile park, Taronga zoo, Seaworld etc with a XHA1s or similar, the other cams are just to big. Dual flash cards as opposed to tape sealed the deal."

First go at my new cam. Put this up for anyone who is considering buying one. Im moving from HV20- HF10 to this, so I'm still learning the manual controls ( as is evident in this bit of film, lol), I uploaded this in 1080p 4-6mbps h264, it appears to have lost alot of quality in the render, the footage when put on the PC is simply stunning, the step up in quality from the HV20 or the top quality AVCHD of the HF10 is very noticeable. I read alot of reviews of this cam complaining about the low light performance, I may be a newb to pro cams, but I sat in a dark room and filmed around the house and had trouble finding grain in the footage, the camera kept the blacks black even at +18db gain. Another massive win with this cam, pull the sd card out of the cam, put it in your card reader, Open Sony Vegas, import media (not drag and drop, just read from the card) and the best..... Preview in best quality, even with crossfades. any questions, let me know.
