Hey man, i have a Sony HVR-HD1000U and use it for alot of music videos and short films, hoping to take into feature length later this year, but first need to work out all the bugs;
what settigns would you recommend for shooting at night time with low light, i have done several shoots and all come out very grainy, even when there is sufficient light indoors, i keep changing settings but its not helping much,
please help me:)

my work JUST got the 1000u.

I did a A/B test from the 1080i to the 480i mode...

and my goodness it STILL looked great! the color is Quite remarkable!

I was in outdoor mode (for the AWB), and i think thats about it.

also I have used the HV20 too.... i guess its ok.

like most cameras these days they are VERY dependent on light!

well its good to know that there is another videographer out there in the youtube community!
