Watching and Waiting

Back in the mists of time, in the years before the world wide web, in a remote corner of the Australian landmass, a ten legged creature emerged from a garage and began to make apocalyptic noises. The Swamp Monsters were born. Comprising Blake Barratt, Tim Boykett, Mike Dearn, Adam Podger and Paul Stewart, the Swampies only ever released one vinyl EP. The title Track, Watching and Waiting, is an eerie and prescient anthem about environmental destruction, war, and global warming.
I founded the band with Blake when we were in year 12, in 1985. I was kicked out shortly afterwards for being musically incompetent, but I was responsible for most of the band's artwork, posters, etc until they split in 1988.
Anyway, I think this track stands the test of time. Thanks to indie bands like the Swampies, Perth in those days was an exciting place to be growing up.
