You do know that was just a shooting gallery for you? Against an escorted convoy with decent AI, you would be sunk in no time since you have really no idea what you are doing. This is more of an arcade first person shooter than a submarine simulation.

@mig25pd Yes, but I think the Royal Navy can be proud of its fighting record. If I'm not mistaken, that incident was the first outright surrender since the Napoleonic era. Captains could always strike if the only alternative was destruction. They faced a naval court afterward, though.

A thrilling doomsday movie, but there were so many technical details wrong that you really couldn't suspend disbelief. Quick example: the mistaken attack on the USSR was monitored at headquarters with exact locations of the planes shown on a screen, arcade-style. We couldn't even do that now.

Nice graphics, but USN aircraft didn't flame quite that easily! Also, there was a red disk inside the white star insignia at the time of Coral Sea; it was removed the week after and was not present a month later at Midway.

Look at the difference between 2:30 and 2:40. The ship has come to a stop. The "launch" was faked for the camera and it's pretty obvious. That's why they deleted the scene most probably.

In the Russian infantry, traditionally, bayonets were fixed permanently on active service. Or at least that was the tradition 100 years ago.

I believe Scott was being honest in ascribing the cause of their deaths primarily to bad luck, or more specifically bad weather luck. He was in command and was responsible for the success or failure of the expedition. Undoubtedly he made some bad decisions but the primary reason for this disaster...
