About this user

I love to dance. I am a Hmong dancer and I have been dancing since I was three years old.
I am was in many different dance groups until I was finally capable enough to gather a group of girls recreate a group called Ntsais Plia. I said recreate, because this was the name of the group that my older sister created for our family dance group.

Ntsais Plia worked really hard, discovering new techniques. Our group didn't last long due to everyone's desire to accomplish other things beside dance. However, in six or so months together we were able to get third place in Wausau, WI. Our first time ever placing. We were proud of ourselves.

Even though the group broke up, we sometimes do get together to do small performances.

Now, I am handling a group called Viv Ncaus. We are a part of Freedom Inc, a nonprofit organization trying to end violence in low-income and no income communities of color.

Viv Ncaus Dance Troupe was founded in 2007. Our mission is to lessen the generation gap between the Hmong elders and the younger generation by teaching the Hmong culture, tradition and language through Hmong dancing to young girls. The goal is to have mothers, aunts, grandmas, sisters and daughters come together to sew Hmong clothes.
