Why don't you build a geared connection that would connect both sides and thus assure the N always hits the S and so forth.....Kinda like a car's alternator...

Why don't you just orient the disk magnets outward (all N or all S) and have the other magnet the opposite of those, constantly repelling them and not attracting?

I would feel more comfortable if he had used plexiglass instead of plywood to demonstrate his findings on......Hocus pocus??
