I love telling people about my great grandfather and his activism durring the great depression. He was the founding president of the Southern Tenant Farmers Union and ran for governor of Arkansas twice on the socialist ticket, altho he didn't win he is quoted saying he did not run to win but ran to raise awreness of the plight of the people. I am Very Very PROUD of him and his activism. His name is J.R. Butler. I proudly display a picture of him that was taken by Dorothea Lange.
