I am Zebra Green... and this my lesson for submission in the 2nd annual 'you be the guest professor' competition at the www.thefunkuniversity.com .... ... this lesson is entitled 'P-Funk-Osophy 101: G0 2 V3g@$', and it demonstrates just that.
G0ing 2 V3g@$, is to this simple, yet strange animal... a philosophy to live by, wherein:
This lesson is about context, going to V3g@$ and being comfortable with being yourself. ....
1. Context- I've given some context to thee character Zebra Green by creating some strong visuals and pairing them with interestingly hypnotic rhythms and melodies while leaving plenty of space for my voice to convey a few interesting mind environments... .... This lesson is meant to paint a picture of a bazaar array of characters in your minds eye, strongly enough, that when you listen to the song without looking at the video... you will still see flashes of my characters in your minds eye because your brain has created new neural pathways linking my sounds with my image. .... Consider Prof. Bootzilla, when you see his picture, with some words written in the context of a quote like "Yeah, babba." .... you probably read these words with Prof. Zilla's voice and personality in mind. .... Its just what the brain does. .... The mind has the plasticity of a Newtonian fluid... (g33k j0kE... lol) .... if you set the scene, weave your tale, elaborate on details, all the while conveying an emotional range and keeping tonic and dissonance in mind... It is very possible to create an an environment of the mind and take others on an adventure threw it... a veritable exploration of 'the Dreamtime', if you will...
2. G0 2 V3g@$- Consider what it means to 'G0 2 V3g@$'. ... it is not simply a literal term, but a figurative and metaphoric term baring vast amounts of symbolism reflective, not of only the superficial, but also of concepts and ideals of the strongest gravity. ... .... basically, when you put your mind to something with positive intention, you are essentially cancelling out any free radical negative vibrations bouncing around in the multi-verse that may cause One to have a bad trip. ... ... and really... no One needs to have a bad trip. ... So 3volvE forward in time with positive intention and be not afraid to G0 2 V3g@$.
3. Being comfortable with yourself- Like that soap commercial says... "Love the skin your in." ... lol... I feel it is very important to feel comfortable with being who you are by keeping yourself well meditated... ^_^ .... lol ... .... in my video lesson, i look like i just might be 'funking insane', but that's just it... its a video... an art project, to create a youtube style projection of some visual and auditory manifestations of concepts and ideas i wished to convey. ... and i just happen to be comfortable enough with myself to be fine with wearing florescent green contacts and body paint looking like some strange tribal witch doctor dream shaman in an attempt to teach you something... but ... it's all part of the illusion... because the art of Music and Entertainment is a Natural Magic, both ancient, yet still evolving... It is simply up to us to learn how to feel okay with delving into our own imaginations, being okay with what we find... and being okay with sharing yourself with the multi-verse as well as being accepting of the multi-verse sharing itself with you. ... "Peace threw One Love, Soon Come... Be the Power." ... ^_^

This is my 'sorta' homework project for Bootsy Collins Funk University Warwick Songwriting Challenge.

This particular video is simply an exercise of imagination.
I am interested in applying for a proper endorsement from Warwick, DR Strings, Pigtronix and AKG, respectively....
I wrote and recorded all of the audio tracks, live, inside of 24 hours... I did all my post engineering work inside of that same 24 hour period... I shot, captured and edited all of the video footage for this in one night, once again falling within the above mentioned 24 hours.
the video was done with imovie and the onboard camera on my macbookpro... (ive never taken a video class... ever.)
I would love to do more of this kind o' stuff... Learning to record and edit audio and video is so much fun... but it really is work.... lol... : )
