lets give my new "paramilitary 2" a work out (black blade and handle)

sense this has aluminum handles and the real ripple has steel, are these aluminum handles thicker than the steel? (i like how slim the real ripple is)

@mrvoodoo94 you know metal files are made of 1095 carbon steel, some have a handle shape with a hole per-drilled, pick one up for $8, head it in a fire to anneal it so you can cut it, then do what you did for the other one (you might want to temper it after).

-things to add-

stropping smooths out the micro teeth on the edge, so it will be "sharper", but it wont have the same "bite" (unless you sharpen with 220 grit then strop on bare leather).

as far as compound, i use white, then finish on bare leather, then my jeans (or canvas).

i dont like videos made by people other than the band themselves.... but this is just well done, and it fits the song.

and was it just me, or is the coating on the spine of the blade worn off?

@nightburn2 no worries, im good with knives, i already took it apart, i just didn't want to pop the lanyard hole out, but now that i know it can be done with out damage i think il take it apart, sand all the sharp edges, and make it better than new!

@chanekazo i put mine in a toaster oven at 150 - 200 F (if you can hold it its not too hot)

the paramilitary 2 is not meant for copping, its meant for slicing, you proved that... thank you for damaging your knife so i dont have to. (seriously, i was curious)

also how did the coating on the paramilitary hold up to stabbing the can?

try using some slivers of metal to shim the liner lock, i mean hold the whole steel insert forward, its seems like the whole inside is moving not just the blade. try it, if you want, let me know how it goes.

i found that the lock was sharp on the hand as well, so i took it apart and filed all the sharp angles, its a little better now... just a thought.

i found that a $14 diamond stone from wall-mart puts a great working edge on my knives. but for kitchen knives i uses a 800 grit water stone (or a 220 grit stone that i found for free)

id just like to add that in my experience with the kershaw blur and benchmade mini reflex, i can make the lock up much tighter if it add some oil or grease, then tighten the screw.

also some knives dont have "play", the handle just flexes.

after your review, i want to get one of these knives, and "enjoy" it (you know what i mean. would you recommend the tanto or drop point blade?

@capatainnemo semi auto dampens the recoil, but most of all, the compensator does its job...

@LT89NL half right, it adds weight in the front, and the gasses hit the baffles on the inside which pulls the gun forward, this counteracts the recoil, reducing the overall and felt recoil... but its still a 22, so there wasnt much to begin with.

i like having about half an inch sticking out of my pocket, it gives me something to grab onto.

have you even held or used a kershaw blur? i like the handle on those (no spur) and the blade is a similar shape. look into it

@helmsp actually, with a little oil, you wouldnt have to, also almost all of the parts are stainless.

where do you see them for $120? the cheapest iv found was $175.

@newhuskytwenty a wet stone is the way to go, but for miner touch-ups just use the a ceramic sharpener.

good point, but if you want to really save on the gun, get a hi point, dirt cheep, maybe $120 for a hand gun ( i know its $180 for a .45)

what kind of coolant / cutting oil are you using?

i always keep my knife clipped to my pocket, its keeps it out of the way and is more comfortable...... but to each his own i guess
