@mrvoodoo94 you know metal files are made of 1095 carbon steel, some have a handle shape with a hole per-drilled, pick one up for $8, head it in a fire to anneal it so you can cut it, then do what you did for the other one (you might want to temper it after).

stropping smooths out the micro teeth on the edge, so it will be "sharper", but it wont have the same "bite" (unless you sharpen with 220 grit then strop on bare leather).

id just like to add that in my experience with the kershaw blur and benchmade mini reflex, i can make the lock up much tighter if it add some oil or grease, then tighten the screw.
also some knives dont have "play", the handle just flexes.
