@s0sexi She's gorgeous. And I think she's done a super job filling in for Kirsten Storms. It had to be hard to walk into such a long-running role on short notice. So sad that people are beating up on her for doing what she was asked to do.

@knp814 I guess they (Maxie and Mac) are trying to drown themselves in work so as not to drown in grief. Some people do that. Not everyone falls apart or does the weeping/wailing thing. Some people fall apart; some become stoic.

Sounds silly, but what kills the whole effect for me was that they are handling that flatware like Europeans. Most of us Americans suck at that and have to do the hand-switch thing.

It's not awful, it's just not very good. The kid hasn't lived enough to have a clue how to give the lyrics any meaning. Not even Santana's amazingly soulful guitar can inject any real emotion into what amounts to a naive affluent child trying to sing about pain and redemption.
