About this user
Koby Israelite: Born in Israel. Crawled. Screamed. Walked. Talked. Ran. Heard. Listened. Fell in love with music. At the age of 6 started taking piano lessons. Classical music wasn't enough. Then jazz wasn't enough. Then contemporary wasn't enough. And then, at 15, the piano wasn't enough. Exit piano enter the drums. At 22 moved to London and played the drums as a recording sessionist and a touring artist. Then rock wasn't enough. Multi-genrist played punk, R&B, metal, balkan, drum&bass, world music, avant-garde, Jewish and African influenced tunes. As the years went by, being a natural-born world processor, he has become a multi-instramentalist, mastering the accordion, all percussion, the piano, guitar, clarinet, flute, bouzouki, mandolin, bass and saxophone. And then playing wasn't enough. Koby began to compose. And then one day John Zorn heard his music. Koby has recorded four (?) albums on Tzadik label and produced an album for John Zorn. He also wrote music for films, TV and multimedia, as well as playing his beloved accordion with members of Taraf De Haidouks. He has recently become a musical producer. A musician who had understood the cultural essence of the global village, long before it called itself a village, Koby abolishes all boundaries and puts everything into everything. A 21st century artist
