September 16th, the Malaysia Day. Its the day the Federation of Malaysia was formed by the inception of Sabah, Sarawak (both north Borneo states) and Singapore (Singapore then left the Federation independently in 1965) with the then peninsula Malaya in 1963.

It took 232 years since their self-proclaimed independence for the Americans to finally elect an african-american for the highest office in the country.
