Anchorsong is a music producer and solo live act. He started his career in Tokyo in 2004 and now based in London.
He has become globally recognized for his unique live performances, creating electronic music live with a sampler (MPC2500) and a keyboard right in front of the audience. Some people say, "It's like watching a painter drawing on a white canvas." He has become an international phenomenon through YouTube, with videos of his live performances having been viewed more than 200,000 times so far.
Since his relocation to Europe in late 2007, he's supported Bonobo, Prefuse 73, DJ Krush, Daedelus, Gonjasufi, Jaga Jazzist and so on. Although generally performing solo, he frequently teams up with a string quartet and has performed at many prestigious venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Roundhouse in London.
He appeared on BBC Radio 1 several times after performing at SxSW 2009. His first BBC Maida Vale Session for "In New Music We Trust with Huw Stephens" was broadcast in early 2010.
He has released 3 EPs in Japan. All of them were released as a double disc (CD & LIVE DVD). His international debut EP "The Lost & Found EP" will be released on 28th March 2011 on Case Study Records.
