The whole world is a global village. Imagine for a moment that this village is composed of 100 people, there would be:
- 59 Asians
- 14 Africans
- 14 Americans
- 13 Europeans
There would be 52 women and 48 men.
There would also be 50 young people under the age of 25. 20 people (men only), would possess 80% of the village and its wealth.
Only 1 woman would possesses her own land
About 5 and 6 women would have suffered rape.
42 people would not drink potable water.
50 people would live in the village, 50 others would be scattered around.
33 people would live a situation of armed conflict, of whom 23 women.
5 men and 1 woman would be soldiers.
5 children would work in conditions of slavery and 1 little girl would be employed without being paid.
60 people would be able to read, write and count. 40 of them would be men. 50 people would have access to health care.
20 people would have access to a computer, including 15 connected to a network-type internet. 1 person would be considered rich, ie having more wealth than needed to indulge her own needs and those of her family. She would alone possesses 50% of the village and its wealth.
80 people would be reported to have a religion, of whom 40 would be forced to practice (under duress or by custom), and 20 others would not practise. In addition,5 people would practise despite risks to their survival.
The library in the village would be accessible for only 24 people, the others would be prohibited. The cinema would be visited weekly by 1 person, always the same.
The electricity would be cut about 50% of the time for lack of resources. 30 people would consume 90% of natural and energy resources of the village.
5 people would be already on holiday parties. It would provide that 10 people in total would be the next 5 years.
Etc, etc. ... The figures can be spread over pages and pages.After reading this you might have a diferent idea of what is luck,and above all you might have a different view on your luck !

I'm a christian respecting you ;) I don't care if you don't think like me : it doesn't mean you're not a friend ! :) I don't know if you're French but I must say that if it is the case, then you're a total exception, most French people are getting more and more facists. Am I wrong?
