About Me:
fill out a form,
present a medical certificate that you are fit to own a firearm,
certificate that you have not been convicted,
certificate that you have undergone a course for basic firearm training (course of about 1 week),
certificate from your local policeman that you were not noted in violence and drinking, signed by 2 neighbours
present insurance policy for firearm-related accidents
pay all fees
The process usually takes to 1month (may be up to 3month).
Then you get a document to purchase a gun, buy it, register it and get a license in several days.
Every next gun is much easier to aquire as only fees are to be paid and just copies of the existing documents to be made.
Rifles are licensed about the same, but more lengthy and costly and not in the local, but your county police department.
Handguns (pistols and revolvers) are on total ban for civilian use. Exception is the Flobert revolvers (and Deringers) in 4mm, which are sold over the counter like any other airgun, no license.
One may purchase a rubber bullet firing handgun, but the licensing is a pain in the neck.
All shotguns and rifles are to be relicensed every 3 years (usually formal procedure of presenting more certificates and fees).
It is convenient to ask a policeman to set all your firearms licenses to one deadline and then to relicense them in one block, they are helpful with that.
The number of firearms owned by Ukraine's citizen is unlimited.
Semi-auto rifles are allowed with the magazine capacity of no more than 10 rounds.
No full-autos are allowed for civilians.
Silencers (sound suppressors) are allowed automaticly for those who have licenses.
