A rare composition of Sri Thyagaraja in the raga Hamirkalyani, beautifully rendered. The alapana is very good, and so is thani also. I wonder why more vocalists do not sing this composition at concerts.

The violinist, Mr. Arun Ramamurthy has played very well also; his Saveri is superb. The mridangist, Mr. K V Gopalakrishnan, has played with restraint, not too loudly, to complement the mellow singing. This is an altogether impressive performance as a team.

Superb and so soulfully rendered. Sanjay has brought the delicate contours of Nattakuranji raga so masterfully. This kriti is as beautiful as Shree Dikshitar’s masterpiece in this raga: Buddham aashrayami. I wish he sang an alapana too.

This is so nice to watch and hear. I wish the video included the entire kriti of the composer Sri Ootukkadu Venkatasubbaiyyar in Gambheera Nattai raga. The dancer is quite good, with excellent abhinaya, which is rather rare in male dancers. The vocalist is very good too, with a pleasant voice.

This is so thrilling to hear. An abundance of intricate sangathis so superbly rendered. This is probably the finest version of Sri Thyagaraja’s kriti Sobhillu saptaswara in Jaganmohini raga I have ever heard.
