Yesaya Jnr Nkhwazi (born 14th February 1991) is better known by his stage name Yesaya. Others refer to him as Big Y; which is also known to be his alter ego. Yesaya has performed on the same stages as renowned artists; Brick & Lace and Sean Kingston. Yesaya is primarily recognised as a rapper, having worked and released music as a solo act, and also as a group named Team Gypsy. Yesaya sparked off ...his career with a single on iTunes titled: Here To Stay, which was well received by press and listeners.

Yesaya then worked Malawi's R&B sensation Theo Thomson and upcoming rapper Wizaymes, who is also a fellow member of Team Gypsy; together they released a chart-topping single: Stutter. This song went on and reached no. 2 on Malawian charts and also broke the record for the most downloads. The music video received major airplay on Africa's hit stations Channel O, MTV Base and can also be seen on M-Net.
It also charted at no. 3 on Channel O's O-Xpress: Viewer's Edition chart.

Yesaya is a part of a rap group called Team Gypsy in which he is identified as '360 Gypsy'. In an interview Yesaya stated that the name derives from his most noticeable asset -- his 360 waves. Team Gypsy have released another chart-topper named: Travelling which also spawned a video that is rotating on MTV Base and Channel O.
They are set to release a debut project titled: Travelling, which was executively produced by Yesaya; under the production team NP.

Yesaya as a producer, works in partnership with brother Jabay Nkhwazi under the production team known as NP. They have worked on projects with Malawian greats of various genres, and they have also worked with international artists, namely K'Naan and Brick & Lace.

Yesaya is also a musician; skilled in playing drums and keyboards. Yesaya has been a session musician from the age of 15, playing on big stages opening up for legends such as Israel & New Breed. He also played for Theo Thomson on launching his debut album.

Now at the tender age of 20, achieving more than most who pursue dreams in music. He is not only skilled in what he does, but also qualified in areas of music technology; passion and knowledge combined into one package of art known as Yesaya.
