Lyrics: Hey gentlemens, gentlemens
Now the subject of this song is, uh, something all of you have seen one time or another, it's an old roadhouse
ahh we're down in the south, or in the midwest, or maybe on the way to Bakersfield
and we're, we're drivin' in a '57 chevy to an old roadhouse, can you dig it?
You know, it's about uhh 1:30 and we're not driving too fast, but we're not driving too slow either
We've got a six pack of beer in the car, a few joints, and we're just ahh listening to the radio and driving to the old roadhouse, through nature, dig it?
Well, I want to tell you people about something I know . . . Money beats soul, every time . . . C'mon
======================
Yeah!
Keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel yeah, we're goin' to the roadhouse we're gonna have a real good time
Yeah, back at the roadhouse we've got some bungalows yeah, back at the roadhouse we've got some bungalows and that's for the people who like to go down slow
Let it roll, baby, roll let it roll, baby, roll let it roll, baby, roll let it roll, all night long
Do it, honey, do it
You gotta roll, roll, roll you gotta thrill my soul, all right roll, roll, roll, roll thrill my soul You gotta beep a gunk a chucha Honk konk konk You gotta each you puna Each ya bop a luba Each yall bump a kechonk Ease sum konk Ya, ride
Ashen lady, Ashen lady give up your vows, give up your vows save our city, save our city right now
Well, i woke up this morning, i got myself a beer well, i woke up this morning, and i got myself a beer the future's uncertain, and the end is always near
Let it roll, baby, roll let it roll, baby, roll let it roll, baby, roll let it roll, all night long

Original Release Date: 1984. John Lee Hooker (August 22, 1917 June 21, 2001) was a Grammy Award-winning influential African American singer-songwriter and blues guitarist, born in Coahoma County near Clarksdale, Mississippi. Hooker began his life as the son of a sharecropper, and rose to prominence performing his own unique style of what was originally closest to Delta blues. He developed a half-spoken style that was his trademark. Though similar to the early Delta blues, his music was rhythmically free. John Lee Hooker could be said to embody his own unique genre of the blues, often incorporating the boogie-woogie piano style and a driving rhythm into his masterful and idiosyncratic blues guitar and singing. His best known songs include "Boogie Chillen" (1948) and "Boom Boom" (1962). Hooker's life experiences were chronicled by several scholars and often read like a classic case study in the racism of the music industry, although he eventually rose to prominence with memorable songs and influence on a generation of musicians.Hooker's guitar playing is closely aligned with piano boogie-woogie. He would play the walking bass pattern with his thumb, stopping to emphasize the end of a line with a series of trills, done by rapid hammer-ons and pull-offs.
