Hey, I'm Yannel. I'm 16 years old & I love to sing. It's my passion. I sing mostly in spanish & a little of english.

I started singing at 3 yrs old. My first perfomance was at the San Fernando Cathedral. At the age of 4 yrs old, I was privileged to sing for Prince Albert of Monacco at La Mansion Hotel here in San Antonio in 1998. For the past couple of years people & tourists that have seen me perform would ask if I had a cd out. So at the age of 10, I recorded my first cd for the public. In December of 2004, my cd was produced.

In April of 2005, the 5th Annual Official Fiesta cd was produced & one of my songs, "Amor Eterno" was chosen to be on that cd. Also, on December 31, 2007, "Amor Eterno" was included in the Trios y Mariachi's cd. Then, on June 20, 2005, my cd was nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards for "BEST RANCHERO ALBUM". I was included on the list with Vicente Fernandez, Rocio Durcal, Ana Gabriel, Luis Miguel, & many other artists. I was very excited. Again on October 19, 2005, my cd was nominated for another grammy, except this nomination was from American Grammy Awards for "BEST MEXICAN/AMERICAN ALBUM" on the same list was: Joan Sebastian, Yahari, Stampede, etc. I felt extremely excited. This has been done without the benefit of major label or radio promoter for back up. This was simply a project to sell cd's during my performances & it turned out great!

My cd entitled,"Me Piden", can be found at Del Bravo, Janie's Record Shop, iTunes, & Era Tapes. I do know that some radio stations in San Angelo, California, & other places play my record constantly over the radio, which is pretty amazing! I've never had voice lessons.

You can see me perform downtown at the Market Square almost every Saturday & Sunday & sometimes during the week, especially on holidays. I also perform at weddings, debuts, & any other special events. I also sing every year for the Texas Folklife Festival & have been for the past 6 years.
