New Anchorage, Alaska Mosque (Masjid) Project

Dear Brothers/Sisters in Islam,
As Salamu Alaikum. We hope this letter finds you in the best of faith and well being. It may come as a surprise to some of you that there is a rapidly growing Muslim population in Alaska, the land of the northern lights, midnight sun, and "the last frontier" of the United States. It is a reminder to us that Allah (SWT)'s dominion extends over all of the earth.
The Islamic Community Center of Anchorage, Alaska Inc, a not-for-profit organization, serves the Muslims in Anchorage, the major population center in Alaska. ICCAA's regular activities include Jum'a prayer and weekend Islamic education classes for children, as well as assisting with marriages, funerals and conducting da'wah. For the past few years, the Muslims in Anchorage have rented a small office space to serve as our Musallah, but have long outgrown it. It is the goal of Muslims here to acquire a building of our own in order to accommodate the needs of the entire community, and be a true Masjid for daily Salat, Eid and Tarawih prayers, weekly Islamic/Arabic education classes, lectures, and for da'wah activities. To this end, we are making a humble request to concerned Muslims: Please donate and participate in helping us obtain the very first Masjid in Alaska.
