@wesgardner23 - Thanks! I went with the Mariner mainly because of its ability to handle rough water better, being a self-draining kayak. The Ultimate, being an open design allows easier stow and access of gear. It's also lighter than the Mariner is weight is a concern. If you have the opportunity...

@danishconsumer - a better option to the tube flush mount holders is a flush mount receptacle from Scotty, which will accept various rod holders and allow you to change positions and angles of rod placement. Scotty 244.
