About this user

Sailor, boat builder, writer, publisher, musician. Next to music, sailing has filled my life from an early age. I first studied piano with my mother, then later took up the clarinet, tenor sax and guitar. Studying under Nicolas Slonimsky, Clarence Sawhill and others, I earned a degree in music from the University of California Los Angeles where I also studied composition privately with Roy Harris and with Kelly James. Besides my devotion to music, I have logged thousands of miles of voyaging under sail and written many books and articles about my experiences.
