I have been involved in the yachting industry for approximately 15 years and have now decided to put my experience to good use, serving the yachting community by setting up my own company called -- you guessed it - YachtGrot
I have also been sailing myself for the last 10 years, the last 4 of which I have spent cruising from South Africa to South America. Then up to the Caribbean and back to the UK via Bermuda and the Azores.
Last year I spent time cruising in the Mediterranean while doing research on WIFI installations and facilities in marinas, which are now becoming very popular. They are of great benefit to sailors because they allow us to use onboard computers to obtain weather forecasts and keep in touch with our families, amongst other things.
