Hello everyone!

Interesting how things played out, isn't it? I said I'd upload consistently until September, and then I didn't upload anything until October. Plus this is one of my rare interpretive remixes, not an original composition. And it's orchestral, unlike most of what I've been doing recently. Well, not recently, but... bleh.

So yeah. I started this around 2 months ago on the flight back home from Finland, and I actually worked on it pretty consistently. A few breaks here and there, but nothing longer than, say, a few weeks or so. I did have a few problems with chords (which I made up on the fly as I went, not using a reference like I should have), and I neglected to fix them until these last few days. And so I had pretty much the whole song done with the wrong chords. But I went back and fixed most of them, though the second half before the loop uses mostly original ones.

I'm not gonna lie, my main inspiration for this was the soundtrack of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. xD I was on a plane, I was tired, and I needed something to do. So I decided to remix Route 10 (something that I've wanted to do for a long time), and the cellos and bells and things just kinda fit. And so "Pirates of Route 10" was born. (That's what the GarageBand file was called for a while.)

Also, one more thing... sorry for failing to upload a 1000 subscriber special. I had the song done, but Garageband didn't want to cooperate. Compressors and things weren't working well. I still have the file lying around somewhere, so maybe you'll see another upload in the near future — this time I don't need to take six months to compose. :p

This song was made with the help of the Symphony Orchestra Jam Pack by Apple. GarageBand and iMovie, the programs I used, also belong to Apple. I neither claim to nor wish to own Pokémon or the original song from the games; everything is owned by Game Freak and Nintendo. I do not own the image used in this video; I have only cropped it to fit YouTube's aspect ratio. It was made by mark331 on deviantART — you can find the image here: ‹http://mark331.deviantart.c...›. Lastly, this song belongs to me, and you may use it only if you ask me for permission first.
