Sabah el khair! Kifak? in reply to your comment, i don't rejoice at the death of my Syrian  brothers; of course not. i am scared, sad and desperate. If all Syrians were united and wanted a change, they would all talk ONE language. But see what is happening, some are dying, others are spreading hate, the situation might transform into a civil war Syria has so many ennemies including within arab neighbours and Syrians themselves. Syrians abroad are against the regime, taking advantage of masses difficulties and using Moslem brothers in order to get the power but once they reach that power, cynical businessmen will only get richer and there will be no difference between a tyrant and the other. Baath ideology is not necessarily bad, it is the people who are. Is Irak a better place to live now? Are women safe there now? Are we, people of Middle East, ready for democracy? It takes time, training and maturity for that. i wish we were, but i don't think so.

Dear Saud, sorry, i must write in english for i don't have an arabic keyboard. The last time i was in Syria was 11 years ago to pay a visit to my father. But i left Syria many years ago although my heart has and will always remain there. i don't forget my roots despite the fact i lived in Europe for so many years. You can't compare France to Syria. Impossible. i think Bashar El Assad is much better than some Presidents before him, he is a much less ruthless person. Unfortunately around him are some sharks, i know, that have rotten the country. But my friend , i also fear that chaos reigns for a decade or so in Syria should he be removed . i fear also that little by little, all arab countries could be once more "colonized" by the West, mainly US and also France. Look at Italy now taking part to the Nato actions in Lybia, France will do the same with Lebanon and Syria. Apart from that, i like my country to be a secular one and not a religious one. Peace my frien. i wish you the best.
