Alot of people in eastern North Carolina seem to have a much stronger accent than the people in western North Carolina. It's more drawn out and not just a twang type of sound like you here in the west and alot of other places.

@Cayran There's not much of an accent along the coast because of alot of northerners that have settled there. If you travel a little inward the accent is very strong. Alot of the people have accents that are as southern sounding as anywhere else in the south.

You won't hear as much of an accent from young people like her because most young people today spend more time in front of the TV than they do talkin with the older folks.
