BTW, an enclosed computer is ONLY a bad idea without an exhaust outlet and a fan forcing the air out of the enclosure. I personally for years OC'ed my rigs and kept them inside a closed desk cabinet with a exhaust fan and had excellent temps for years and years. NO EXHAUST outlet is BAD

Yes, you can shorten the pipe, it would require going to the muffler show and having them open the end of the pipe so it would fit snugly. If you did not you would have an exhaust leak.
