This is a really great channel - I appreciate how much help you are giving to others who suffer from Pectus Excavatum - I think that a lot of people actually end up not getting surgery because they are very nervous about it, and it is so great to see that you've created something here which will help folks get past their worries - thanks so much!

Thanks to you I have decided to go through with this procedure. I am almost 31 and was terrified it was too late. However, I am having difficulties finding surgeons in Florida. Can you direct me to any websites that have listed Hospitals or surgeons? Thanks again for everything you've done.

Hey I have pectus & my biggest concern is my breathing. I feel like I can never get a deep breath. I am wondering if you also had breathing problems. Thanks

AngeIord - Yes! I am absolutely going to do one. I planned for before the holidays, but ate way too much. Back to the gym now, and feeling much better. Will have something very soon. =)

hlife39 - My ribs did not really flare much if any before or after, so it would be tough as a comparison. ><

Thanks for your videos they have helped me greatly, I have a pectus excavatum but with extremely flared ribs - did you feel the procedure fixed or changed your ribs as well?
Regards

Pedun42- Hi Pete, they never did check my index, as it did not matter since I was symptomatic. As for the bar, that sounds rough. I was really lucky that my doctor ordered the dissolving plate so that I would not need a second operation. (I would highly recommend this for anyone else going through the operation). Sounds like your surgery went well though. At the moment, I am working on building up my chest muscles again. There is some minor pain, but mostly when I over exercise. Otherwise I feel completely back to normal.

@magsjones01: The pecs are the worst part, yes. . . After you get over the initial pain in your chest wall, that is.

In the hospital, I was on some pretty heavy duty stuff: dilaudid, an immediate effect painkiller that's roughly 5x the strength of morphine, for the first two days through my IV. I was able to stand up in three days, and was home in four. I was on oxycodone for the next few weeks. My pecs were healing very slowly, and when they felt good enough, I took up running again.

Ouch, did my pecs get worse. . . I started running three months after my initial surgery, and every day, my pecs would hurt more and more. They still do a little bit.
