James Jenkins was born in 1984 and is currently attending the College of Santa Fe to obtain a BA in Moving Image Arts. His aspirations to become involved in the process of making motion pictures first surfaced at the age of five. He was born in Tampa, Florida but has spent most of his life in Anchorage, Alaska. There were few visual arts programs at his disposal in Anchorage, but he did attend a small film class at his high school. During this class he made his first completed film, a dry satire called "Revenge of the Janitor." One of the key challenges of this project was learning how to do 3D Animation WHILE making the film.
