Many believe that Scientologists are victims of the cult through brainwashing, mind control, abuse, manipulation, and intimidation. The brainwashing and mind control is achieved through rigorous and lengthy routines of hypnotic processes as well as immersion into the cult's writings, audio/video lessons and lectures.

I do not have a problem with people believing what they wish. If people, like "freezone" scientologists for example, want to believe in the Scientology, that is fine. However, members of the "Church of Scientology" are heavily indoctrinated, they will do and believe just about anything the cult leadership tells them.

The "Church of Scientology" organization abuses their staff. They SELL their faith by charging massive amounts of money to take courses and buy materials. To get from the bottom (grade-0) to the highest (OT-VIII), it is conservatively estimated that it costs $400,000 to $600,000 depending on how fast and how easily you move across the "bridge." The cult calls this money "Donations", but you you are REQUIRED to pay it. The only way to avoid paying for courses and materials is to work full time as a staff member or quit, but they will not simply let you quit without being stalked and harassed. People often max out their credit cards, take out loans, or take out mortgages on their homes until they go broke. Only the wealthiest of society can afford to stay in Scientology without having to go on staff full time or go deeply into debt.

This is why you see so many actors and actresses in Scientology. They can afford to pay for the courses. These Hollywood elites are a major public relations advantage for the cult, as such, they have their own "Celebrity Center" with a private entrance and they are heavily shielded from the dark side of the cult. They never see the suffering and they deny it exists. Like other scientologists, they are heavily indoctrinated.

If you were to walk into a Scientology building and ask questions about Scientology's core beliefs, all they can tell you is to "buy a book" or "sign up for some courses and find out." They will not discuss Scientology with you openly. By selling you something, they can raise their stats which they are required to do. The weekly stats are aggressivley monitored by top management. Secondly, this prevents the Scientologist from scaring you away. They do not want you to learn about most of the material until you have been fully indoctrinated and properly processed.

The Church of Scientology denounces mental illness as myth and they believe that "Psychiatry" is to blame for all our problems in the world. The Church of Scientology wants people to think that they are the "ONLY ONES" who can help. The Church of Scientology has launched a massive and costly campaign against psychiatry in an effort to destroy it. In their warped minds, they think that would allow Scientology to take over, thus making them BIG money. It sounds ridiculous, but it is true.

The Church of Scientology puts aside approximately 10%-20% of their profits and uses it for court litigation and for harassing their critics. It is well known that the cult has an intelligence division called OSA (Office of Special Affairs). With the help of private investigators, they routinely investigate critics of Scientology. They dig up all possible information on the critic, their spouse, children, and also their immediate family members. They sometimes start a black P.R. campaign against the critic to try to discredit them among their peers and employers. They sometimes have private investigators follow the critic, sometimes blatantly. They have been known for putting up black P.R. flyers around critic's neighborhoods to try to embarrass them and discredit them with neighbors. They sometimes file complaints with the critic's employer to try to get the critic fired. They sometimes file frivolous lawsuits against their critics as well. They have done much worse in some cases. The purpose is to either silence the critic or to destroy them (fair game policy).

Some have argued that other religions are no different. I disagree. First of all, churches of other religions ask for donations, but it is not a requirement. Other religions do not charge you money for the faith. You can practice any other religion and not pay a dime. Secondly, they do not abuse their staff. Thirdly, people of other faiths usually have NO problem discussing their core beliefs with a stranger. Catholics, Christians, and true muslims are not brainwashed. They do not go through processes of hypnosis and mind control. Most importantly, they do not harass you and come after you physically. When people protested against the Catholic Church regarding the pedophilia issues, I never saw the Catholic Church go after their critics.
