Singer / Songwriter / Musician making music
In 1981, I was given the opportunity to play the organ. Luckily, my parents had a new Kimball Organ they had purchased from Jordan Kitt's music. This was the beginning of my musical journey into sound. 1 short year of organ lessons was the only musical training I would have for years to follow.

I became distracted with outdoor activities and my interest in music waned a bit. When I entered 5th grade, I decided to play the saxophone. I played well into high school and enjoyed playing in the Jazz Ensemble. I did take another year of Piano lessons in 8th grade to further my understanding. During this time, I found an interest in singing in school and in chorus. Singing brought me great joy as I slowly began to discover my voice.

When I was a senior in High School, I began my first project as a keyboard player for a pop/rock band called 'Ecouter'. This band was started by my older brother Javier. We got some radio play in Chicago, played some shows there, and attracted label interest in California. During my first year of college, I began to write music and started to teach myself guitar. Shortly after a journey to record some tracks in California with Ecouter, the founding members (my brother and his close friend) had some differences which subsequently resulted in a breakup of the band.

I started to record some 4-track demos and soon after joined a Beatles Cover band with my younger brother Xylon. In this band I focused on learning how to be a bassist and took this instrument as my own. This band was composed of friends Kevin Good, Patrick Tyrrell, cousin George Carrillo, brother Xylon Garavito, and me. In 1995, the creative original material was flowing from all of us and we concurrently started Hemophilia, an original rock band. This band was short lived but resulted in some of our first recordings.

With Kevin Good leaving and Victor Crisen joining, the band took on a different style and propelled itself into a pop/rock jam styled group. This new band called The Walk (with Kevin Good as our recording engineer) produced a CD entitled "Through all the Frozen People" in 2000. We began to play shows all around the DC area and started to promote our album. Victor Crisen left to pursue other interests and the remaining 4 stayed together as The Walk until we were forced to change our name in 2003 to Continuous Play.

Continuous Play enjoyed constant gigging through Maryland its first year but was soon to become a 3-piece after my brother Xylon's departure in 2003. After losing Xylon, the band would tighten their sound to a power trio and we began to play shows all along the east coast year round. In the summer of 2004, A 3 song original demo was recorded at Ear Candy Studios and early pre-production for Continuous Play's original album began.

The beginning of 2005 was a revitalizing time for Continuous Play as we began serious work on recording new songs and road-tested material to put out an album. In May, when personal differences with the drummer halted this project, I left the group to continue along my own life path.

I have been enjoying the freedom of musical creation and developing my voice during the past few months and have been experimenting with recording techniques by recording original material.

I have 2 original songs that I produced and recorded available online.

My musical journey has been a long one and continues to evolve. I look forward to spreading my music through this website to you and encourage you to spread it to those you think may enjoy my sound.
