Why this name?
It started off as an online nickname which I used at that age of 13 called 'Xenon', and later on it changed to 'Xenogen' and then to 'Xenogenocide' which I found out that it could also mean "Alien Genocide".
Do you play live?
Studio project at the moment with upcoming Album release this year.
Band History:
Not much. All I can say is that I started playing guitar at the age of 12 and worked my way into plugging it into my PC and getting hold of some decent recording software - Namely 'fruity loops' at first.
After the fruity era, I went onto Cubase SX 3 an discovered all the beautiful inner workings of EQing, compression, and other techniques used in the industry standard today.
Now I use a variety of DAWs including Cubase 5, Ableton Live 8 and Fruity Loops 9.
Influences:
I have a lot of musical influences, starting from classical music from the 1600's and 1700's, 70's rock 'n' roll, to 80's bay area thrash, to 90's Groove metal and Melodic death metal.
Melodeath is my main influence, Thrash metal is my second and Groove metal my third.
Equipment used:
2005 - 2007: A standard Squire Strat with a Korg AX100G distortion box plugged into the microphone jack.
2007 - 2008: An Aria Pro XL with a Zoom G2.1u pedal via USB.
2008 - 2009: All my guitars with a Pod X3 via USB.
2009 - present: All my guitars into the Pod, Dry recording into the Alesis via USB and processed with some VSTs and stuff.
