The commentary on this thread is an example of why Ron Paul will never be elected; he attracts a crowd without the discipline of mind or mouth needed to give his ideas weight. I haven't seen a valid, verifiable point in this entire thread, just a lot of angry, unfounded invective.

Nope, Morris is right on regarding the gold standard. Do some research before you spout off. When we went of the gold standard the economy soared...it was unhinged. Our problems now have nothing to do with the gold standard.

Bind: that was the most reasonable comment I've heard on this thread. However, I still think Paul will make a poor showing for two reasons. First, isolationism does not poll well with the American public. Secondly, many of his beliefs quite frankly sound naive.

You're right: CelticSouthland, who posted the video, mentions secession. Perry has never advocated it in anything I've read or seen.
