You are right. The GREAT GREEN DOOR in SF, still has this great strain. Picked it up for pre new years eve, after their Sactown Branch had to close. They always take our fun away up here in the 916, because a few people try to cheat, ending the fun for everyone else.

I can't think of any music recently that has come down the pike, that sounded so fresh to those of "The Boomer Generation".....this reminds me of early 70's intensity....it sounds like Bonnie Raitt, with Duane Allman on slide, backed by The Stax-Volt House Band.

@DD52 This song is about the killing of JFK, and that signaling the end of the Wide-eyed optimism of the early 60's that the Beach Boys were born out of. Take this song line by line, and interpret as I speak of, and you will then be blown away at the actual full, complex meaning of this song.
