Read this please :-) Taping this video was really a fun thing to do. I made a few mistakes but I didn't care, this is the only take I filmed and I think it's good enough for what it is. The hi-hat kept moving on the mossy ground and I had some problems with that, hahaha. This is really a fun song to jam along to, the 9 minute length is just perfect to play whatever you like and to experiment. I filmed this vid near the Sweetwater Trail in Powell River, British Columbia, Canada, an area where I usually mountain bike. The tempo of the song is 174 Bpm. The mix doesn't come with a cowbell so you can use it in many different ways. But keep in mind that I own the copyrights, feel free to use it but let me know whenever you intend to use it in any commercial way. Thanks guys for watching my videos and all the support I get on a daily basis! Check out my webpage drumgate.com for ordering my drum books, free lessons and more. Cheers Ydna Murd

1000 beats per minute recorded in real time at Provident Studios in Warsaw, IN during 2009. He holds the World Record found in the Book of Alternative Records. www.alternativerecords.co.uk The record is not just speed but also duration. The record parameters are the fastest consistent speed for the longest time. In this case it is 1000 beats per minute for 63 seconds. The Hammer has played at up to 1200 beats per minute but decided on the 1000 mark for the best duration. The record also specified that each note must be individually plucked with a finger. No picks, slapping or dragging will qualify. The content of the record was not solely The Hammer's decision. It was negotiated with the Book Of Alternative Records to make sure the playing field was level so that everyone has an equal chance. Variations on the A major scale was chosen. Sound quality was a problem. This was done in a ProTools studio. It was requested that the videographer patch into the console but he did not do it. The video was recorded with the on-board camera mic from about 6 feet away and the results were not good. The sound from the console is very good. No buzzing or rattling. Before you judge the sound make sure you are listening on a quality system or good headphones. No notes were missed. This is 1000 beats per minute which is 16.6 hertz. The ear cannot make the distinction between individual notes at that speed. The only way to be sure is to analyze the waveform, which was done in this case. This was a pure speed situation. Groove or any other rhythmic or melodic quality can not be judged in a scientific manner. This is a bass. It is apples and oranges to anything else. To hear the Hammer play, search for The Legendary "Lake Trash" Band on youtube and listen with good headphones. These videos were not professionally recorded but you can hear everything ok
