Before 2008, I was politically apathetic. Then along came a striking man with promises of hope and change! How could I not be taken in? I cheered wholeheartedly during the historic election night of 2008 while watching the broadcast in Grant Park. One sentence in particular resonated with me in his profound speech:

"Tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the... might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope."

It is to my disappointment that his principles are removed from his words from that evening. From expanding wars overseas, extending the Patriot Act, and bailing out big banks, I felt short-changed. Ironic that it was Barack Obama who cured my apathy. But it wasn't until I discovered Ron Paul and his message of liberty that I found true hope again. Here was a man whose consistent voting record over 30 years speaks volumes, whose principles come from the Constitution and not from gauging the political atmosphere.

Make no mistake, since I have researched the benefits of free enterprise and a society of non-coercion, I fully and unequivocally support Ron Paul for president.
