The South African branch of the World Shotokan Karate-do Federation is a highly disciplined organization that adheres to traditional Japanese karate-do and maintains a close connection to Kasuya Sensei and the honbu dojo (headquarters) in Japan. Many senior South African karate instructors have received intensive training there at special international training courses (gashuku) or have been graded to higher karate ranks.
