the quality of this movie version is very watchable, as far as I'm concerned

i would say Kipling knew how to tell a rousing good story, & the scriptwriters have just been imitating him ever since.

& then you can stir in govt. agencies & charitable organizations (sigh) It boggles my mind

I think people have good hearts; I think they try to help out where they can. Some will make it; some won't. & I know how cold that sounds.
