I consider myself to be a true Liberal. I feel as though people should be free and that prosperity and failure should be left to the individual. Survival of the fittest is natural law and humans should not be exempt. Laws that stifle a persons natural freedoms(free speech,free expression,etc) are contemptible and should be removed from all societies. Further more,I have a true disdain for laws that restrict an individuals ability to defend themselves from attack. Any society that puts the rights of a criminal above the rights of the citizens is inherently flawed. Governments should absolve themselves from basing law on religious dogma as well. While each person should be free to worship in their own way and of a religion that they deem suitable for their peace of spirit, that should not equate to forcing those beliefs on others.

So long as the state provides a basic rule of law that steers people away from destructive or parasitic ways of life and in the direction of productive ways of life, society runs itself. If you want people to flourish, let them run their own lives."
