I spend my professional (and much of my personal time) buying, selling, designing, collecting and researching knives.

To some people this might seem obsessive, but there is something primal about the knife. It believe it may even be in our genes as the knife has been the most important tool we have had and has enjoyed tremendous longevity (ok, the wheel is pretty good too - but try to carve a pot roast with a wheel!).

As my career in knives has developed my interest in the history of this fascinating tool has become one of the main objectives.

This past summer I spent two weeks (my summer vacation!) in Solingen, Germany shooting footage for a self-produced documentary on the history of this town as it relates to ... well, you guessed it: knives!
