Thanks for the comments. theres a very good tutorial on sharpening convex edges on the bladeforums site. Goto bladeforums and click on manufacturers forums, then click 'fallkniven' about the 10th subject down is a lengthy tutorial on sharpening convex edges. Let me know if you can't find it. Yes, if you use , say a mousepad and sandpaper method on a 'V' grind, you'll change the geometry and 'round' it out.
I was woundering. I'm new to the convex ground blade. I've always thought that that you needed that green compound on a leather strop to sharpen the blade. But I've heard recently that this isn't true, and that instead it only polishes the edge. How do you sharpen these then if they get dull, like paper ripping dull?
Also, does a strop polish conventional V-grinds as well without changing any of the geometry of the egde?
