A workplace injury or death doesn't just affect the workplace.

The context is much wider; husbands, wives, children, friends are the ones who have to live with the sadness, the trauma and the practical difficulties. That's why WorkSafe continues to champion the importance of every Victorian worker returning home safely every day.

Many of our commercials have entered Victorian TV folklore: the little boy with the basketball waiting for his Dad; the bakery girl. Some make us squirm, others make us smile.

Together they get results. Over the last 8 years there has been a steady decline in workplace deaths and injuries. The number of claims per 1000 workers over that period has decreased by 24%.
