Here's the solution to this entire debate: End the EPA and adhere to personal property rights. The EPA is just a worthless bureaucracy that burns up much of its funding before is hits the ground level where it is needed most. If someone is polluting your air, water, or land then they should be accountable in a court of law PERIOD. That way, it matters not if global warming is real, the pollution ends (and not just air pollution) one way or another.
This is Ron Paul's plan for environmental protection, and it's the only plan that makes sense if you truly care for the environment. Big government has failed us thus far, and more of the same is not going to save us from environmental degradation.
Do the same grid experiment and add another factor - Dollars. Which course of action will allow the government to take the most amount of money from you? Will your carbon tax dollars be spent wisely on sustainable fuel options? doesn't look that way does it?
