To celebrate the life of writer, editor and First Amendment advocate John Seigenthaler, who died on July 11, 2014, and his legacy as the host of A Word on Words on Nashville Public Television for 42 years, we asked authors and friends of Seigenthaler to offer some reflections on his life and their own relationships with him. Here, bestselling author and historian Jon Meacham reads an abridged version of the New Yorker piece that he penned shortly after Seigenthaler's death.
The collected testimonials will first air during a four-hour marathon of classic episodes of A Word on Words on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 2-6 p.m. on NPT. For more about the marathon and reflections, please visit http://blogs.wnpt.org/media....
