@ReadingWeirdo : It sounds beautiful if you really know what you're doing and have the range. I could never get a note above an E two octaves over middle C. I still appreciate the sound though I haven't played a French Horn since 1979!

@lightbrown95 : Don't waste your time arguing with this person. Anyone that has seen me play enough knows that I use all 6 strings on my axe. Though of course I'm sure there are some out there with 5 and 6 string basses that only have them for the look and don't fully play the whole instrument.

@guitarstyles669 : Considering that the 4 middle strings of a 6 string bass are the same as the lower 4 strings of a guitar it is conceivable that melodies played on both instruments would require the same amount of accuracy 'to pull off,' as you so eloquently put. Or is that too much for you?
